Time Pieces Studio
About my artwork
There is this idea that poetry is in my artwork. Currently, I work in my home studio in Evergreen. The juxtaposition of my ideas and poetic elements is what creates my compositions. Transforming images into analogies/metaphors produce a surprise! This is my visual culture. I enjoy working with kids because there is a playful child in me. I tend to follow a very organic process when it comes to any particular rule, technique or style. I nurture my ideas, love research and let my imagination and inventions guide my work. Like I always say, "I don't go to my poems, poems come to me." I do the same with my artwork. I respect time, experimentation and spirituality in my process. I do believe my roots and traditions from Peru are a great part of my inspiration and curiosity. My creative process allows me to communicate with objects or whatever catches my eye to make art and tell its story. How fun is that?
